AC Milan vs Torino –  AC Milan hosts Torino at San Siro on 12th January, Thursday in the Round of 16 of the Coppa Italia. The two Serie A clubs have had contrasting results in their last few domestic matches – AC Milan, in particular, are looking for a strong cup run with another mediocre season in the league.

AC Milan are fifth in Serie A standings with thirty six points, trailing Juventus by nine points while Torino are seventh with twenty nine points. Both clubs are expected to finish in the top half of the Serie A but a deep run in Coppa Italia will bring much needed cheer to the fans.

AC Milan are entering the domestic cup competition at Round of 16 while Torino defeated Pro Vercelli and Pisa in the earlier rounds – the latter in extra-time.

Team News

Alessio Romagnoli and Luca Antonelli will miss the game through illness and a muscular injury respectively, but the Rossoneri are expected to field a strong line-up against the Torino side.

AC Milan’s newest requisition Marco Storari is expected to be a part of the matchday squad although Gianluigi Donnarumma is likely to retain his place in the first eleven.

Defender Leandro Castan is a doubt for the visitors and will face a late fitness test.
