Portugal Cristiano Ronaldo single-handedly demolish Sweden

Portugal have finally booked their tickets to World Cup 2014 in Brazil after a hat-trick from Cristiano Ronaldo demolish Sweden hopes.

Real Madrid superstar Ronaldo had scored the only goal in the first leg match at Estádio do Sport Lisboa e Benfica to give Portugal a slim one goal advantage prior to the fixture last night.

SoccerPunter predict that Ronaldo’s exceptional performance last night will ensure that he wins 2013 Ballon d’Or prize.

Although Zlatan Ibrahimovic did everything he could to score two goals for Sweden, it was not enough to secure qualification to World Cup 2014.

Following the impressive show by Ronaldo, FIFA have announced that the deadline for the journalists, coaches and national team captains to submit their preferred top 3 players for 2013 Ballon d’Or has been extended to 29 November 2013.

This move is seen to boost Ronaldo hopes of clinching the FIFA World Player of the Year for 2013.
