Lionel Messi out for two months due to hamstring injury

Despite a massive win over Real Betis in Spain Primera Division, Barcelona lose their top goal scorer Lionel Messi.

No, Messi did not receive a red card but a recurring hamstring injury forced him to be substituted in the 22nd minutes when the live score was still 0-0.

Barcelona supporters are concerned that this was the third time this season that Messi has been sidelined due to thigh and hamstring injuries to his right leg.

The club medical team have released a report today that Messi will be sidelined for two months due to torn hamstring muscle in his left thigh. So it is not related to his past injuries which happened to his right leg.

Messi will miss international friendly match between Argentina and Ecuador. He will also miss Champions League matches against Ajax and Celtic.

Nevertheless, Messi’s absence did not deter Barcelona from winning the La Liga encounter with Real Betis.

Brazilian striker Neymar was on the scoresheet to put Barcelona in front after a beautiful pass from Cesc Fàbregas.

Pedro and Fabregas also scored to give Barcelona an important win to stay top of Spanish La Liga. Atlético Madrid remains at second place with 34 points whereas Real Madrid have 31 points at third placing.
