Suarez says MLS teams have made him “five or six” offers

Despite receiving “five or six” offers from Major League Soccer teams, Luis Suarez denied he could end his career with Lionel Messi at Inter Miami. After leaving Atletico Madrid Suarez is without a club, having stated in an interview that he would choose his next team within the next two weeks. 

MLS Offers and The World Cup

Uruguay’s striker said he had listened to United States’ offers, but that he wanted to be at his best for the World Cup in Qatar. “There are some possibilities for January, but I have to evaluate everything,” Suarez said, confirming that he had received multiple offers from the US. Suarez said that the MLS is a complex market. 

Some clubs want him, but do not have the slots, so it would have to be in January. Others want him now, but he must assess their playoff chances first.

He has stated that he has listened to all the offers, but in case some MLS teams don’t make the playoffs, they end their season at the beginning of October. For Suarez that would mean ending a whole month before the World Cup, which he has said would be bad for him.

The Uruguayan also addressed rumors that he might reunite with Messi at Inter Miami before they retire. He denied the rumors about Inter Miami and said that there are always speculations both in the press and social media and that he simply can’t always deny everything. As far as Lionel Messi goes, he said that he doesn’t know where Messi will choose to retire, but that for now, he has a future at PSG. Suarez and Messi are close friends, and as stated by Suarez they will likely both live in Barcelona, but as far as the same sporting projects go, those are just speculations.
