Schalke striker Huntelaar might need a knee operation

Klaas-Jan Huntelaar has been on the sidelines regularly due to knee ligament injury.

Although Huntelaar was the top goalscorer in 2011-2012, he has only played 3 matches for Schalke 04 in this season Germany Bundesliga.

Schalke sporting director Horst Held revealed that Huntelaar will only return in January 2014. In other words, he will miss the first half of the Bundesliga season.

Huntelaar is considering a surgery as a last resort to rectify his knee ligament.

This Saturday, we will see Eintracht Braunschweig vs Schalke 04.

Eintracht Braunschweig is currently at the rock bottom of German Bundesliga. Based on the H2H stats, the last time Braunschweig beat Schalke was in 1955.
