Man United Interested In Pep Guardiola

Manchester United are interested in the services of Pep Guardiola and have contacted the representatives of the Spaniard, according to ESPN. Pep Guardiola, whose contract at Bayern Munich is coming to an end next summer, has drawn interests from Manchester United’s local rivals Manchester City for the majority of 2015.

The 44-year-old is yet to sign an extension to his three-year contract at the Bundesliga giants and speculations have been rife that the former Barcelona manager has set his sight on the shores of England next.

While Manchester City most definitely have led the race to gain signature of the coveted manager, recent result at Manchester United have forced the board to believe that Louis van Gaal may not be the right man for leading the English club in the future seasons.

Although Guardiola has given no indication to anyone over whether he will extend his stay at Bayern Munich, City have been working on signing him for three years, and sources say they are extremely confident they have done enough to secure his arrival once he leaves the Bundesliga.

Manchester United were eliminated from the UEFA Champions League as Wolfsburg defeated them 3-2 at the Volkswagen Arena. The loss in Germany strengthened the claims of a legion of Manchester United supporters who have been frustrated at Louis van Gaal’s apparent lack of philosophy and direction.

The loss against AFC Bournemouth this past Saturday was another humiliating incident for one of the biggest European clubs and pressure seems to mount on Louis van Gaal. Although the Dutchman is likely to keep his job until the end of the season, Manchester United is expected to be on the lookout for a new manager sooner rather than later.

Only future will tell whether Pep Guardiola will commit to either Manchester club.
