Injuries hit Real Madrid and Barcelona

Real Madrid midfielder Federico Valverde would be out of action for at least a month after suffering a fracture in his right leg during 4-1 defeat at Valencia in Spain La Liga.

Real Madrid are having a dismal season with only 16 points from 8 matches. They are fourth in La Liga after selling James Rodriguez and Gareth Bale to Everton and Tottenham Hotspur respectively.

Barcelona young striker Ansu Fati will be sidelined for four months after rupturing the internal meniscus in his left knee during the home win over Real Betis last Saturday. He has undergone a successful knee surgery.

Fati has scored five goals in 10 appearances in La Liga and the Champions League. Unfortunately, he will miss the La Liga trip to Atletico Madrid later this month and the remainder of the Champions League group stages as well as the Spanish Super Cup.
