Chelsea sack Thomas Tuchel as manager after disappointing start

Chelsea has parted ways with their manager Thomas Tuchel after a poor start to the season.

Chelsea shock 1-0 defeat to Dinamo Zagreb in Champions League was the nail in the coffin for Tuchel.

The recent form for Chelsea was LWLWL. It is unbecoming for a football club that finished third in English Premier League last season.

SoccerPunter chief analyst, Andy Chia, has attributed the shaky defence to the absence of Rudiger.

Rudiger joins Real Madrid on a four-year deal after Chelsea did not express interest to renew contract with the Germany international despite his stellar performance last season.

Andy said that Tuchel is a good manager and he ought to be given more time. However, the new owner does not understand football.

Todd Boehly completed a $3.2 Billion purchase of Chelsea in May this year.

Roman Abramovich was forced to sell the London club in March after being sanctioned by the British government due to his connections with Russian President Vladimir Putin. It marked the end of his 19-year trophy-filled tenure.

Former Real Madrid manager Zinedine Zidane and former Tottenham Hotspur manager Mauricio Pochettino are favourites to replace Tuchel at Chelsea.
