Atletico Madrid beat Granada by penalty kicks

Atlético Madrid must thank the referee of the match, José González, for awarding two penalty kicks in their favour.

The visitors were awarded a penalty kick against Granada in the 38th minutes and Diego Costa wasted no chance to give Atletico Madrid the lead in the first half.

Granada defended well overall but they were unlucky to concede another penalty in the second half.

This time, it was David Villa who converted the spot kick to give Atletico Madrid a two goals lead in the 78th minutes.

Granada did not give up fighting and eventually scored a consolation goal in the 90th minutes through O. Ighalo.

This match result meant that Barcelona is only leading Atletico Madrid by a point in Spain Primera Division league table.

Barcelona vs Espanyol tonight in another La Liga match. It is unlikely the Catalans will lose.
