Sweden, Ukraine Qualify For UEFA Euro 2016

Sweden have qualified for 2016 UEFA European Championship as they defeated Denmark 4-3 on aggregate in the qualification play-off last night. Zlatan Ibrahimovic scored a goal in either half, which included stunner of a free-kick in the second half. Ibrahimovic also converted the winning penalty in the first leg, which helped the Paris Saint-Germain forward defeat Denmark for the first time in eight matches.

It means a lot. There was a lot of pressure on us but we did it. The first game we played well, I think, and today was a lot of defending. It was really tough.

Ukraine defeated Slovenia as well to progress to the finals of the European championship to be held in France next year. Ukraine took a 2-0 lead at home courtesy goals from Andriy Yarmolenko and Yevhen Seleznyov. In the return leg, Boštjan Cesar offered the Slovenian fans hope through an excellent goal, but Ukraine’s defensive unit held strong until Yramolenko’s equalizer in stoppage time guaranteed their progress to the 2016 UEFA Euro.
