Samuel Eto’o quits Cameroon football team

Despite qualifying for World Cup 2014 play-offs, Cameroon and Chelsea striker Samuel Eto’o has decided to quit the national team.

The four-time winner of the African Footballer of the Year award winner told his Cameroon teammates about his retirement plan after the 1-0 victory over Libya in World Cup Africa Qualification match.

However, Eto’o did not reveal the reason for the retirement in international football. He thanked the Cameroon national team for everything and there was an internal prayer conducted before he left.

Based on our insider news, Samuel Eto’o has major disagreement with Cameroon coaching team. The coach has refused to include goalkeeper Carlos Kameni and striker Achille Webo in the start line-up against Libya.

Cameroon sit comfortably at top of Group I for its World Cup African Qualifying campaign for African zone. They could face Ghana, Ivory Coast, Algeria or African champions Nigeria in the two legs play-off for a place in World Cup 2014.
