Northampton Town vs Manchester United – Manchester United travel to Sixfields Stadium to face Northampton Town in the third round of the Football League Cup on 21st September, Wednesday. Manchester United suffered their third consecutive defeat in as many games this past weekend against Watford.

The humiliating loss at the hands of a spirited Watford side inflicted further blow after losses to Manchester City and Feyenoord in the Premier League and UEFA Champions League respectively. With pressure mounting on the under-performing Manchester United stars and Jose Mourinho commenting how some of his players are failing ‘to handle the pressure’, Manchester United must deliver against League One side Northampton Town.

The Cobblers were promoted from League Two at the end of last season and have already dispatched another Premier League side West Bromwich Albion in their last League Cup fixture. Their thirty one game unbeaten run came to an end this past weekend but Rob Page’s side have the capability to spring yet another surprise on Manchester United.
