Neymar is key to Brazil success in Confederations Cup

Defending Champions Brazil humiliated world and European champions Spain 3-0 to win a consecutive third Confederations Cup.

Fred gave Brazil an early lead in the 2nd minute to stun Spain and Neymar added a second goal before half-time.

Sergio Ramos missed penalty in the second half sums up a miserable night for Spain. Central defender Gerard Pique was sent off after a harsh tackle on Neymar .

The Spanish players were wore out from the previous match against Italy that was decided in penalty shootout after 120 minutes of play.

Brazil coach Luiz Felipe Scolari is confident that his team will stand a good chance to win next year’s World Cup finals in Brazil.

“We played even better than expected,” exclaimed Neymar after Sunday’s Confederations Cup final against world champions Spain.

Neymar says playing in Spanish La Liga next season could take him to a higher level. He is looking forward to pair up with Lionel Messi in Barcelona to form a lethal attacking partnership.

“I am going to one of the biggest football clubs in Europe, so I hope I adapt as quickly as possible and that next year I can have a great World Cup,” said Neymar.
