Match fixing claims hit Perak FA in Malaysia

After three consecutive losses in Malaysia Cup, Perak FA have decided to suspend all its coaches and staff for two weeks to conduct an investigation on match fixing.

The news came after Sarawak thrash Perak in a humiliating 6-1 scoreline for Malaysia Cup. They have been eliminated from Malaysia Cup.

All Perak staff and coaches are required to report to PAFA every day during the suspension period while players would continue to train but make themselves available to investigations.

Malaysia football has been embroiled by match-fixing scandals.

In 1994, a nationwide clampdown saw 21 football players and coaches sacked while 58 players were suspended.

Last year, the Football Association of Malaysia suspended 18 youth players and banned a coach permanently for fixed matches.
