Cristiano Ronaldo has pledged his future to Real Madrid by signing a contract extension until 2018.

Real Madrid have announced that Ronaldo has agreed on a new contract worth 17 million euros per season, one million euros more per season than Lionel Messi at Barcelona.

This new contract will make Ronaldo the highest-paid footballer in Spain La Liga.

Previously there have been speculation that Ronaldo will be moving to France Ligue 1 club Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) or returning to his former club, Manchester United.

Ronaldo and new signing Gareth Bale scored in the weekend La Liga match against Villarreal.
