West Ham ‘want £100 million for Declan Rice’

West Ham United are sticking to their £100 million price tag placed on midfielder Declan Rice, according to a report.

The 22-year-old was heavily linked with a return to former club Chelsea in the summer transfer window, but that interest did not materialise into an official offer.

However, more recently, it has been rumoured that the two Manchester giants have joined the battle for his signature.

The midfielder was instrumental in England’s run to the Euro 2020 final earlier this summer and has been a regular in the West Ham side since breaking into the first team in the 2017-18 season.

It is rumoured that Rice is currently happy at The Hammers and has three years left on his current contract. The club also hold an option to extend it for a further 12 months.

Therefore, the London club is under no pressure to sell their prized asset. According to football.london, they will refuse to entertain offers of less than £100 million.

That figure was enough to put off Champions League holders Chelsea in the summer. However, after spending £100 million on Jack Grealish last month, it is unlikely to deter Premier League champions Manchester City.

The report continues to state how West Ham have not yet received an offer for Rice, but their star man looks set to be at the centre of a transfer tug-of-war in the 2022 summer transfer window.
