Champions League Updates: Game over for Barcelona?

Bayern München put up a world class performance to thrash Barcelona 4-0 in the first leg of Champions League semi-finals at Allianz-Arena.

T. Müller was on top form to deliver two goals for Bayern München. Other goalscorers include M. Gómez and A. Robben.

No one would have predicted this massive scoreline but we are not surprised that Bayern München emerged as victorious.

It was a combination of team work and hard work by the German Bundesliga Champions in order to contain the attack from the Spain Primera Division leaders Barcelona.

World Player of the Year, Lionel Messi, was largely anonymous and did little to threaten despite being named in the starting eleven for Barcelona. In the match preview, we disclosed that Bayern München manager Josef ‘Jupp’ Heynckes has a tactical plan to stop L. Messi and it has proven to be very effective.

With respect to Barcelona attacking prowess, we feel that the four goals margin will prove too much to overcome. Therefore, we are confident that Bayern München will surely be in the Champions League final.
