I disagree. If guessing works, then most bookmakers would go bust and you wouldn't be in negative territory now. It requires a lot of effort and analysis to predict the match result. I have managed to derive a way to be successful in the long run.

I've learnt from previous months, too many multi's missing by one leg. Subsequently I am reducing legs and increasing single bets. And yeah your right beck, it does take heaps of effort and analysis, thanks mate.

Cheers, yeah still some tweaking needed. I learnt a couple more things this month: am going to concentrate on a smaller number of leagues, and review my tips more before i place them. Thanks

Become wary of some prediction sites, especially for multis. In some cases I've found what seems to be deliberate false picks. I must remember to check other sites especially stats on form and previous games for every tip.

As long as that effort is focused on the right data. Eg. you can pain over correct score predictions and will be lucky if you hit one in a hundred.

Have gone back to the drawing boards, am watching other good tippers and seeing that my tip volume is too much. Have been working on breaking down amount of games and leagues to focus on to develop a new strategy of single tips, hope it works...

Made one critical error with my goals strategy, forgot to consider the cold weather in europe. I've also noticed that outcomes are rarely exactly like previous games suggest, always just a little bit different.

Trying to force structure onto irregular events doesn't work when considering odds. I stopped trying to add bets up to $2.00 and have started to concentrate on winning tips, and am having some success.

Need to look at: "competition" results and fixtures table underneath Team Statistics. Since I've started to look at the raw data instead of stats or predictions my results have improved.

Imo the rules for giving penalty goals needs to be tightened up, accidental handballs and people falling over their own feet are not fair penalties. If the rules are kept loose and in the mind of the referee, football becomes open to greasy manipulators and evidently ruins the game of football..

Whats the use of trying to predict using statistics if half the games are fixed. Now I think what I would like the score to be if the game was rigged and am factoring that into my predictions.

Thanks Vidmadcrash, I've developed a routine for looking through stats and finding potential tips. Since three months ago I have not looked at a prediction website. Also experience from all my losses in the past is helping now.

I used to look to the top guys in any given month for inspiration or maybe to see if I could pick out their strategies but what I learned, pretty quickly, was do my own thing. Nobody gets all of the result predictions right all of the time, even the leaders in this tipsters competition. There's nothing better to inspire than seeing the leaders wins against their losses are on par with your own, even when the predictions are different. Looking back at your record for the 9 months previous to your routine, those prediction sites can't be up top much :) well done on finding out you're better than them. more power to you mate.... keep up the great work.

Thanks mate. I can't look at prediction websites because as soon as I do I start picking out all the wrong predictions. :p It can only take a suggestion to cause you to think wrongly. I've found that finding good predictions is one thing, constructing a good tip is an entirely different skill. I used to copy and paste into a document, but this is tedious and for me turned out to be unlucky. It has always been a learning process gradually leading to a more structured routine.
