France as a host and favorites to lift the trophy will go for an good opening
game in Stade de France in front of their fans. They play against Romania who are one of the most defensive team that i saw. They finished second in their group in qualification with 5 wins and 5 draws and only conceded 2 goals in that 10 games. I believe they will "park the bus" in their box. But the bad thing is that it won't work. France have a killer key for that situation and that is Dimitri Payet with great free kicks and crosses. And believe that France will score first and early. After that the Romanians will have to open and then they will be destroyed with Martial or Griezmann speed. I believe that France will win this game comfortably.
France and Romania have met on 9 occasions in the past, in European Championship as well as World Cup matches. However, Romania did not manage to register a win against the French.
This will be a draw match. If France get a goal early, the team can win. Unless otherwise the defensive play of Romania is so tough enough for France to get a goal lately. For goal under 2.5 !!!!
Conventional wisdom suggests a cagey match with a very defensive Romanian team. However, I have an indicator for total goals 5 so that's what I'll go for.
