Arsenal kept their hopes of a Premier League top four finish well and truly alive at the weekend with a 4-1 battering of Stoke away from home, a result which makes it six wins from their last seven games in all competitions.

This has seen them rocket up the Premier League table, with them now sitting just four points behind Liverpool in 3rd but with a game in hand. The higher placed side also have a four goal lead in the goal difference department, so things could go right down to the wire in the race for the final Champions League spots.

The Gunners have undeniably had their problems this season, but at The Emirates they have rarely put a foot wrong domestically. They have won ten, drawn one, and lost two of their last 13 games in all competitions, and one of those defeats was the 5-1 humiliation against Bayern Munich.
Sunderland looked a lot brighter when they beat Hull earlier this month, although their relegation from the top flight had already been confirmed. However, they slumped back into the form that got them relegated on Saturday when they lost 2-0 at home to the now safe Swansea.

This makes it nine defeats, two draws, and one win from their last 12 matches. Away from home they have lost ten of their last 12 games, so nobody can argue that their position in the table is undeserved.

Arsenal are understandably huge favourites for this game, but they tend to play a lot of their most impressive football after the break. They scored three of their four goals at Stoke after half time and have scored 62% of their goals at home after the break. This includes seven goals in the final 15 minutes. They have also seen fewer than two goals scored in nine of their 17 home games this season, with six of those being goalless at the break.

Sunderland also struggle more after the break, conceding 64% of their away goals in the second half. Compare this to the fact they have held the hosting team to a first half goalless draw in almost half of their matches and seen fewer than two goals in 76% of them and we can clearly see where their problems begin. This makes odds of 20/21 for Arsenal Highest Scoring Half – 2nd Half excellent value. I’m going for that alongside a 5-0 correct score prediction
Arsenal to win 5-0
