The most recent 4 meetings between these teams were cagey affairs, with no goals in the last game and only 1 in each of the previous three. I think this one will be different though with the new season, and I'm expecting 3 goals by full time. How about pushing that for a correct score? Well neither side has either lost or won by 3-0 since last year, so that could be a pointer. Given that the home team in this case are statistically more capable of such a result, my longshot bet will be Crystal Palace 3-0 (but we can easily dutch in the opposite result given the huge odds).

This game is not going to exceed 2goals in full time I think +1handicap to crystal Palace is a bit preferable

Crystal Palace 1 - 0 Aston Villa. Previous record spoken itself. Didnt expect much goal from this match. Home side might get 3 point with 1 goal different

H2H suggests their past EPL results usually be TG Under 2.5.

Goal by Palace initially allowed and then disallowed a whole minute or two later, maybe it was offside but I've never a disallowed goal decision being reversed when it was wrong.

It begins - 1-0 for real now.

So much for my correct score attempt then, but we're closer to 3 goals now at 1-1.

2-1 to Crystal Palace at 87 minutes, and that was how it finished. Even the disallowed goal decision I complained about earlier worked in my favour for the exact total.

So you see guys, trends are there to be bucked. Annoyed with myself for not covering that correct score however, even though I profited from this match all the same. I will learn from this to not be too ambitious when I have a good goals indicator, as they aren't easy to find honestly.
